VHF Contest Rules

Objective: To work as many amateur stations as possible using authorized frequencies 144 and 50 Mhz. without using repeaters. Simplex, ssb, cw, FM or digital as long as you TX and RX on the same freq.

Date and Contest Period: June 1st thru July 31st 2024

 

Single Operator: One person performs all transmitting, receiving, spotting and logging functions as well as equipment and antenna adjustments.

Restricted to 50, 144  Mhz

 

Power limits are 100 W PEP on 50 and 144 MHz, 100 W

 

Single Operator, FM, SSB, CW or digital, NO REPEATER CONTACTS ALLOWED.

 

NO DUPES ON THE SAME MODE. Dupes on a different mode will count as multiple contacts with

the same ham

 

Exchange: Call Sign and four-character Maidenhead Grid square.

 

QSO points:

Count one point for each complete 50- or 144-MHz QSO.

Final score: Total number confirmed contacts

Entries may be submitted as follows:

 

When the contest ends each contestant will have 1 full month to get contacts confirmed at which time all entries must be submitted to W0AF.

 

Each contestant is responsible for confirming their contacts. You can use LoTW, EQSL etc. Print out your confirmed contacts and email to W0AF@arrl.net. Contacts need to have (mode, freq and grid square) included on log.

W0AF will NOT confirm contacts you submit it is your responsibility to prove contacts.

 

Only confirmed contacts during the contest period June 1st thru July 31st 2024 (local time) will be counted.

Stations may be worked for credit only once per band from any given grid square, regardless of mode.

This does not prohibit working a station from more than one grid square with the same call sign if you change your grid square location.

Awards: Certificates will be awarded in the following categories:

  1. Most confirmed contacts any mode
  2. Most modes
  3. Longest distance contact
